How we choose partners
We only work with established, reputable UK companies. Before adding any affiliate programme, we check the company's Trustpilot rating, FCA registration (where applicable), and general reputation. We do not accept every programme offered to us. only services we believe are genuinely useful to someone buying, maintaining, or insuring a vehicle.
Affiliate links are placed contextually. For example, tyre suppliers only appear on pages where tyre data is relevant, and breakdown cover links appear where MOT data shows a model has a low pass rate. We do not use pop-ups, interstitials, or banner ads.
Our editorial independence
Affiliate partnerships do not influence our data, rankings, or editorial content. The MOT pass rates, failure statistics, and vehicle data on this site come directly from DVSA government datasets and are processed using the same methodology for every vehicle, regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship with a related service.
We will never:
- Alter data or rankings to benefit an affiliate partner
- Recommend a service solely because it pays a higher commission
- Hide relevant information to push users towards affiliate links
How to identify affiliate links
Pages that contain affiliate links will include a disclosure notice. Affiliate links may also be identified by tracking parameters in the URL. If you prefer not to use affiliate links, you can navigate directly to any service provider's website.
Advertising Standards
We comply with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) codes regarding the disclosure of affiliate relationships and commercial content.
